Sian James
Siân James was born in South Cardiganshire and educated at University College of Wales Aberystwyth. She has written eleven novels since 1975, four of them winning literary prizes. Her book of short stories, "Not Singing Exactly" won the Arts Council of Wales's Bok of the Year Award in 1997. "The Sky over Wales" is an autobiographical account of a thirties childhood. She has also written short stories and plays for radio. In July 2001, she received a fellowship from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and in July 2002, a doctorate from the University of Glamorgan.
