Betty Lane
Betty Lane wears more than one hat. Most of her life has been spent as a potter and sculptor. She especially enjoys modelling portraits in terracotta, aiming at an accurate likeness of her sitters, but often capturing their inner selves as well. Her other favoured subject is based on astronomy. Phases of the sun and moon and exploding planets are designed and drawn onto wall panels to be coloured in luminous glazes. Her other hat is as a therapeutic counsellor. She returned to Cardiff University as a mature student to study for a degree in psychology and now runs a private practice from home. She lives with her partner, Eric - a jazz musician and graphic artist - in a Victorian house surrounded by a clutter of pots, portraits, pictures and piano music. These are some of the facets of her writer's persona.
